Today our Juniors and Seniors watched a mock crash. We hope this made everyone more aware of distracted driving. They began with a crash scene involving a distracted driver and culminated with a mock trial in the theater.

Breanna Harrell has been selected from all juniors in Gibson County to be a 2024 Washington Youth Tour Delegate for Gibson EMC. She will represent Gibson County on a trip to Washington, DC this summer.

Mr. Argo's Welding Class recently finished a grill for a local church. They started with a boat trailer and transformed that into a grill trailer. They then built the grill.

This is a NATIONAL HONOR but locally we were one out of only 15 districts for the entire state to receive this distinction and the only district from our local area!

Students from GCSSD joined over 260 of their high school peers in Nashville on March 5 to express their views on public education in Tennessee at the TSBA Student Congress on Policies in Education (SCOPE). This event took place on the Belmont University Campus.
Students attending were Amerah Landrum (Gibson County High School) and Ryan Bayliss and Eli Brown (South Gibson County High School).
This was an awesome opportunity for our students!

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national, non-profit career and technical student organization (CTSO) of middle school and high school students engaged in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Since TSA was chartered in 1978, over 5,000,000 student members have participated through competitions, intracurricular activities, leadership opportunities, community service, and more.
Technology Student Association (TSA) enhances personal development, leadership, and career opportunities in STEM, whereby members apply and integrate these concepts through intracurricular activities, competitions, and related programs.
Some of our students chose job shadowing today. We appreciate Lt. Kelvin Tosh and Judge Bradley Owens showing them the ropes.

Mr. Wallace’s welding class has been hard at work tackling a cattle mineral feeder project as well as creating some decorative wall pieces out of horse shoes. Stay tuned for the sale of these pieces in the future.
